Don't Feed The Animal
Now that the algorithm seems to work for the simple model, the next step is to extend the model to make it more realistic. My supervisors told me today that I shouldn’t try to make the analysis and shouldn’t try to understand as it was too hard and there isn’t enough time. Instead I should try to do a simple straight forward extension of the algorithm and hope that it works.
So naturally, I’ve been spending all day with trying to do some analysis and trying to understand the consequences of the extended model. I’m tired, I have a headache and I’m getting nowhere and I’m blaming them. They said the words ‘analysis’ and ‘too hard’. They shouldn’t have done that.
(Update: I think I have something. It’s actually quite easy and it’s what I hoped it would be. Now I only hope that I didn’t make any errors.)
